[Travel preparation] EasyJet flight reservation : Barcelona → Lisbon 

 

스페인, 포르투갈 여행을 위해 현지로 가는 항공권을 덜컥 예약한 후, 

기점도시 도착 후 나라, 도시 간 옮겨 다니는 교통편을 고민해야 했다. 

After booking an airline ticket to Spain or Portugal, I had to worry about transportation between countries and cities after arriving at the starting city.

인천에서 출발하여 스페인 바르셀로나에 도착하는 시간은 현지시간 기준 17시 50분.

Departing from Incheon, South Korea, arrival time in Barcelona, Spain is 17:50 local time.

바르셀로나는 일정 후반부에 둘러보기로 한 만큼, 바로 포르투갈 리스본으로 이동하기 위한 적당한 항공편을 네이버 항공권 검색을 통해 알아봤다. 

Since I decided to visit Barcelona later in my itinerary, I looked for a suitable flight to Lisbon, Portugal through Naver air ticket search.

 

다양한 항공편이 뜨는데, 연착, 지연 등 여러 변수로부터 안전하기 위해 21시 50분 이지젯을 선택했다. 

Various flights were searched, but I chose EasyJet at 21:50 to be safe from various variables such as delay and delay.

◈ 이지젯 (easyJet)
   - 영국에 본사가 있는 유럽의 저비용 항공사라고 한다.
      It is a European low-cost airline headquartered in the UK.
   - 악명(?) 높은 유럽의 저비용 항공사답게 어리버리 했다간  배보다 배꼽이 더 큰 경우가 종종 발생
     As expected from a notorious(?) European low-cost airline, you may end up being charged a high fee. 

 

이지젯 항공을 검색해 보니 악명이 높다. 

I did a search on EasyJet. It seems to have a bad reputation.

물론 현시점 기준 항공권 예약만 해 놓은 상태이고, 실제 이용을 한 상황은 아니니 아직 뭐라 말은 할 수 없다. 

Of course, I don't know if it's actually true because I haven't used it yet.

 

이지젯 항공 예약 시 다음 몇 가지를 반드시 유의해야 한다.

When booking easyJet flights, you must keep the following things in mind:

온라인 예약 과정 자체는 그리 어렵지 않다. 

The online booking process itself is not that difficult.

○ 이지젯 항공 예약 시 유의사항 
    Things to keep in mind when booking easyJet flights
  - 지참하고자 하는 수화물을 반드시 확인하여 이에 맞게 티켓 예약시 수화물 옵션을 구매 
     Be sure to check the baggage you plan to bring and purchase the option when booking your ticket.
  - 예약시 여러 옵션(날짜, 시간) 및 조건을 반드시 확인 후 예약 완료할 것
     When making a reservation, be sure to check the various options (date, time) and conditions before proceeding.
  - 단계별 진행 과정마다 유료 옵션구매를 유도하니 유의할 것 
     Be careful because you are encouraged to purchase paid options at each step of the process.
☞ 유의사항을 간과할 경우 요금폭탄 내지 옵션변경이 어렵거나 사실상 불가
    If you overlook the precautions, it is difficult or impossible to charge a large fee or change options.

 

예약 과정에서 제일 고민스러웠던 것은 수화물 옵션 선택이다. 

The most troubling part of the booking process was the luggage options.

항공권 자체는 저렴해 보이지만, 수화물 옵션을 선택하면서 가산되는 금액을 보니 사람보다 가방 싣는 요금이 더 비싸다는 것을 경험했다.  

The flight ticket itself seems cheap, but when I looked at the added amount when choosing the baggage option, I experienced that the bag fee was more expensive than the person's fee.

아울러 예약할 때 수화물 옵션을 미리 구매하지 않으면 현장에서 요금폭탄을 맞는다고 한다. 

Additionally, if you do not purchase baggage options in advance when making a reservation, you may have to pay a higher fee on site.

그리고 막상 내 가방 사이즈, 캐리어 사이즈 및 무게 등이 예약할 때에는 상당히 헷갈린다. 

And I get confused about the size and weight of my bag during the reservation process.

예약과정은 어렵진 않지만 고민하는 과정이 은근 스트레스다. 

The reservation process is not difficult, but the process of worrying about it is quite stressful.

 

 

우선 회원가입 후 항공편을 선택하면, 위와 같이 수시로 팝업이 뜬다. 

First, when you sign up and select a flight, pop-ups like the one above will appear from time to time.

단순히 가방 옵션뿐만 아니라 여러 옵션을 묶은 옵션이기 때문에 가방이나 수화물만 생각한다면 기본사항만 누르고 이후 나오는 것들은 계속 Skip 하면 된다. (추후 수화물 선택창이 계속 나온다.)

Since the baggage selection window will appear later, select only the basic first and skip it.

 

 

위에서 보듯, 1인당 45x36x20cm 사이즈 기내용 가방은 무료다.

As you can see above, a carry-on bag measuring 45x36x20cm per person is free.

기내용 캐리어나 더 큰 가방을 기내용으로 지참하려면 옵션을 구매해야 한다.  저 위 'Add cabin bag'을 눌러보니 36.99유로(약 5만5천원) 추가. 

If you want to bring a carry-on bag or a larger bag as carry-on, you need to purchase an option. When I clicked on 'Add cabin bag' above, it said 36.99 euros (about 55,000 won) extra.

 

이 다음 과정에는 화물칸에 실을 수화물 선택 옵션이 있는데, 지참하고자 하는 수화물을 미리 예상하여 해당 옵션을 구매해 두자. 

Next, there is a baggage selection option. Let's anticipate the baggage you want to bring and purchase that option in advance.

 

그 외에는 차근차근 잘 읽어가면서 예약을 확정하면 된다. 

Other than that, you can confirm your reservation by reading it carefully.

 

확정하고 결제까지 이루어지면 예약내역과 체크인 시작일, 마감시간, 터미널 등의 안내를 확인할 수 있다.

Once confirmation and payment are made, you can find out details about your reservation.

온라인체크인은 출발 한 달 여전 쯤 개시되는 것 같다.  

Online check-in begins about a month before departure.

 

그 외 하고 싶은 말 두 가지를 덧붙이자면, 

In addition, I would like to add two things:

 

1. 일찍 예약할수록 가격이 저렴하다. 

     The earlier you reserve, the cheaper the price.

2. 유럽 저가 항공사마다 기내용 가방, 수화물 옵션 규격이 다르다. 이거 아주 짜증 난다. (다음 포스트에 언급하고자 한다.)

    Each European low-cost airline has different standards for carry-on bags and luggage options. This is very annoying. (I will mention this in the next post.)
